Erosion Discussion at Museum
I thought this might be helpful with the erosion topic....
| Title: | What's the Price for Sandy Beaches? | |
| Date: | Tuesday October 21, 2008 | |
| Time: | 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm | |
| Location: | Cape Fear Museum | |
| Notes: | Tuesday, October 21, 7 p.m. What's the Price for Sandy Beaches? Why do our local beaches need constant renourishment? Should we leave nature alone? A panel of experts discusses this ocean hot topic in what is sure to be a vigorous debate. Marine geologist and UNCW professor William Cleary, coastal preservationist and Caswell Beach Mayor Harry Simmons, and Cape Fear Coastkeeper Mike Giles form the panel. WECT anchor Jim Hanchett will moderate the discussion. Light refreshments will follow the discussion. Seating is limited. Free tickets are available at Cape Fear Museum. NC Competition Registration
Hello! There are two statewide competitions available...the State Championship in December and the Rookie Challenge in January. We need to decide which one to participate in or if we would like to do both competitions. Either way, we need to raise money for the trips, so sell, sell, sell! Good night...
Conference call...
Hi all! I did not receive any responses for the conference call topic ideas, so we submitted it anyway and used the erosion idea. There should be an email confirmation on the 17th and the conference call should take place on the 22nd.

Climate Conference Call
Good Evening!
There is a conference call for the Lego League sponsored by the State Climate Office of North Carolina on October 22. Deadline for registration is tomorrow. Has anyone thought of anything they would like to research for the project? We were discussing erosion. Jeremy Burnett, Marine Quest director, said that he could give us some advice on the topic. I need ideas and questions to post for the conference call by tomorrow.
